Vent plans
Tasks for Vent of Nov 2018
Primary objective - carry out upgrade of the vacuum control system to Acromag
- Do we have necessary hardware?
Steve has acquired some test Serial->Ethernet converter, needs to be checked and interfaced.
Secondary tasks - depends on how many chambers we want to open:
- Fix clipping situation in Y arm.
- ETMX suspension cage yaw rotation.
SRC length adjustment to allow Signal-Recycled locking.
- Clean arm cavity optics with first contact.
- Commission existing OMC.
Tasks for next vent after Aug 30 2017 - not in any particular order
- Installing new RC folding mirrors, PR3 and SR3 (we need to get the actual optics + new Tip-Tilt suspension design)
- Flip existing PR2 and SR2
- Installation of Ruby standoffs for selected optics (we need to get a better magnet gluing fixture ready)
- MC1 suspension inspection and fixing
- ITMX magnet re-gluing
- Baffling (?)
- Installation of steering mirrors to facilitate viewing of optic faces with GigE cameras
- FC cleaning
Prep for next vent
(1) Dichroic mirror replacements for PR3 and SR3
- quotes:
note: 2 deg wedge quote has Fused Silica grade F = 5 ppm homogeneity & micro roughness 0.3 nm RMS, Rana OKed both, 3 wks delivery, Jamie takes care of ordering
phase map of mirror, in and out of tip-tilt mounts
what resolution do we need? Need to measure curvature.
(2) IO Active tip-tilts (Suresh/Jamie)
Suresh is going to LHO April 15-25 for assembly/shipping of tip-tilts
- tip-tilts:
tip-tilts from LHO
bake
assemble
- add mirrors
- level
- in-vac cables (quadrapuses)
ship parts to RND Cables
place order with RND Cables
- bake
- electronics:
- gather components:
- DAC
- anti-image filters
- dewhite filters
- coil drivers
- eurocrate
- cables
- install
- test in DAQ
- gather components:
(3) Black glass beam dumps
- Large baffle style covers for the suspensions
- Small V-shape pieces for generic purpose
manufacture
- pedestals, clamps?
bake
- assemble
(4) OSEM mount screws
- requirements:
- Hex-top, longer, sliver-plated
- Qty = 100
- No-plastic
manufacture
bake
ready to install
(5) New periscope plate
manufacture
bake
ready to install
need shorter pedestals for green PBS and beam dump
(6) Cavity scattering measurements? (Jan)
(7) Loss Measurements
- Improve resolution in the scope
Configs to measure:
- X-arm misaligned
- validate insensitivity to misalignment
- Y-arm misaligned
- validate insensitivity to misalignment
- ~3-5 different beam positions each
- X-arm misaligned
Analysis
- Sources of error?
(8) OMC Commissioning
Electronics
- DB-? cables from the DAC to HV drives
- Readout Trans PDs
Locking Script
- Scan the OMC cavity before the vent, make sure script works
- Lock before vent to ensure procedure makes sense.
Chambers to Open
- OMC Chamber only
Align into PDs
- Lock OMC using OMC REFL signal
- Align transmitted beam into TRANS PDs
- Will require ~1 day of work
