1. Clean Room SUS Work

1.1. Overall Requirements

List items you need before completing this whole section

• Clean 3"->2" optics adapter parts (Side blocks, balance weights, mirror clamps)

  • Adapter rings, wire clamp, wire block and retainer rings are all clean on the flow bench
  • Waiting for machined balance masses from RDL ETA ~1 week
  • All hardware except 8-32 Helicoils are cleaned and ready for assembly, eta on Helicoils ~1 week

• HeNe Laser

• Suspension Wire (wrapped and stored in the clean room)
• Dummy 2" mirror
• The mirrors that actually go into the vacuum.

1.2. Specific tasks and details

1.2.1. Gluing / SUS building [Oct 4 to Oct 11] (YD, JV, TE)

Requirements:

• Dumbell+magnet assemblies need to be glued onto the optics adapter. 4 on the ring and 1 on a side block for each SOS.
• One last round of dumbell+magnet gluing.
• Testing of bond strength of last dumbell+magnet batches.

• for the side magnets, we need longer assembly to avoid interference with the clamping screws. -> an additional magnet will be glued on a magnet-dumbbel pair.

Estimated time: 3 Days

• Assembly drawing ~75% complete, will be ready 10/11/21

1.2.2. Suspending [Oct 4 to Oct 11] (YD, TE)

Requirements:

• Need to push a few already clean Viton tips into 1/4" screws to be used as EQ stops. Assemble those EQ stops onto the SOSs.
• Suspend dummy mirror for balance testing.

• Balance the dummy mirror using the HeNe laser. Adding and moving weights for adjustments.

• Suspend and balance actual mirrors that go into the vacuum using what we learned by experimenting with the dummy mirror.
• Suspension order of optics and origin of the optics:

20 cable quote taken, the order placed. Arrived 10/21/2021

Associated hardware: invacuum cable brackets, assessment in the elog https://nodus.ligo.caltech.edu:8081/40m/16404. We will order Qty6. Jordan is on it.

2.2.2. Chamber opening [Oct 25 to Nov 1] (CO ++)

Requirements:

• The optics have been suspended and are ready for installation.

2.2.3. Vacuum repair [Oct 18 to Nov 1] (JV, CO)

Requirements:

• 10" CF gaskets
• Silver plated hardware for 10" clearance flange

2.2.4. Existing optics Alignment/ table cleaning [Oct 18 to Nov 1] (PS, AG)

Requirements: None

Details of the task:

• Match the current layout with the schematic and mark what is changed.
• Remove the optics that need to be taken out for space for new stuff.
• Align the existing optics better.

Estimated time: 2 weeks

2.2.5. Align the new optics [Oct 25 to Nov 22] (PS, AG, YD, TE)

Requirements: Space cleared as per new optical layout.

Details of the task:

• Install the new suspended optics in their place.

Estimated time: 4 weeks

2.2.6. In vacuum cable installation [Nov 8 to Nov 15] (JV, CO ++)

Requirements: All in-vac cables procured

3. Vertex Racks

3.2.5. New Simulink models & medm screens [Oct 11 to Oct 25] (IM)

Requirements: None

Details of the task:

• Prepare a signal flow diagram for C1SUS2 and C1BHD models with consultation from KA ++.
• Copy the esiting suspension models from C1SUS to make C1SUS2 model.
• New medm screens for the new suspensions and BHD.

Estimated time: 2 weeks

3.2.6. CDS integration work [Nov 15 to Nov 22] (AG, IM)

Requirements:

• Need to finish testing teststand
• 1Y3 rack needs to be cleared up.
• 1 GBps Ethernet cables from 1Y3 to 1X6.
• Make sure we have all cables are there with required lengths.

Details of the task:

• C1SUSAUX2 Acromag Chassis wiring assignment.

• 

• Live link to plan. Anyone can edit with ligo.org credentials.

3.2.7. Damping test [Nov15 to Nov 22] (AG, PS, IM)

Requirements:

• All suspensions must be suspended by now.
• All electronics should be in their positions with requried cabling.
• C1SUS2 and C1BHD must be installed and running.
• All realtime models for new suspensions must be built, installed and started.

Details of the task:

• Do in-air tests of suspension damping.
