  1. Purpose of the upgrade
    1. AdvLIGO LSC / AdVLIGO testbed (green/CDS)

  2. Current status of the upgrade preparation
    1. Optics
      • Done: Have the SRM / ITMs (dichroic). PRMs polished - coating waits for arm loss measurement
      • Done: optical layout
        • Decision made to use 11/55 MHz instead of 9/45 MHz: easier layout
        • MMT design (Jenne): histograms, alignment orthogonality
        • Optics - Gooch & Housego magic HR

      • In progress: ETMs are designed - quote is in process
      • To be done: ordering smaller optics: folding mirrors, aux. locking, etc.
    2. Mechanics -
      • Done: SOSs for new, light test masses
      • Done: TT suspensions for PRC/SRC
        • ANU tip/tilt: LLO Blades + TAMA/ANU compliant eddy current damping
      • To be done: Supplimental parts for TTs, some in-vac mechanics
    3. Electronics (RF system)
      • Done: Designed the multiple frequency RF system to preserve the phase noise performance of the oscillator
        • RF signal distribution (oscillators, splitters, amplifiers, etc.)
        • Triple-Resonant EOM (New Focus KTP + resonant circuit)
      • Done: Placed the order. Received most of the delivery.
      • To be done: Actual modifications of the PDs/Modules
    4. CDS -
      • Done: Demonstrated the control system of one suspension including the cavity lock.
        • Layout diagram
        • All ADCs, DACs, BOs, IO Chassis, computers, fibers, in house.
        • Adapter boards still being packaged
      • To be done: Integration of the system
        • Integration of cards-chassis-backplanes-cpus ongoing and tricky.
        • Coding for the inter process functions (i.e. LSC, ASC, etc)
    5. Green beam injection (unstabilized fiber + green injection from the ends)
