This page describes the in-vacuum comissioning tasks during the OMC installation.

  1. Install the OMC, OMMT, DCPD, an TTPZT in OOC, and TTPZT in BS chamber.
    • Run cables, set up control electronics outside of vacuum.
  2. Alignment
    • Mount pre-aligned breadboards with OMC and OMMT in predefined
      • position with backwards propogating fiber pre-aligned.
    • Lock OMC using light leaking from HR end mirror on OMC.
    • Use backwards propogating beam to align OMMT and input PZT tip/tilt mirrors
      • to cast a spot to the SRM. If possible, confirm propogation to BS, ITM and PRM. **** Alignment must be done with quiescent voltages and strain gauge readings on tip/tilt piezos ****
    • Use retro-reflection from SRM to align OMC input beam pick off
      • and beam steering optics to extract beam from vacuum.
    • Possibly use second fiber launched beam to back propogate beam
      • from in-air output table, through the pick-offs to the SRM.
    • Set OMC REFL optics using back reflected beam.
    • Replace fiber launch with DC readout diode and mount amplifier block
  3. Install the squeezing optics in OOC:
    • Mirror on translation stage, and fixed mount mirror
  4. Adjust OSEMs on large optic suspensions for proper orientation.
    • See link below for likely suspects
    • See iLog link below for method
  5. Optical lever beam extraction??
