Things to be done this summer:

  1. Develop code to manipulate the saved images
    1. Calculate beam size and location on ETMs or ITMs and be able to hand off this information to other code/scripts
    2. Use beam information in an auto-alignment script
    3. Image beam profiles and calculate Gaussian modes (Josh's beam scan stuff integrated with image taking)
    4. Be able to tell what mode a cavity is locked in (distinguish between TEM00 and TEM01 for instance)
    5. Integrate mode identification with appropriate scripts so as to use the information to get into the correct mode
  2. Develop a robust camera network and associated code capable of handling many cameras, streaming, and the storage of images
    1. Setup up a robust Gigabit Ethernet network with appropriate hubs, cat 6 cabling, and GiGE network cards along with the cameras
    2. Ability to route the same image to multiple locations (multicasting to a live stream as well as the normal storage routines)
    3. Ability to select which cameras are streamed to the operators (to be able to replace analog cameras and monitors)
  3. Compare the CCD and CMOS cameras to see if there is any difference in image quality
    1. Take a beam, split it, and acquire a beam on each camera
    2. Do diffs between images as a function of beam power.
