Dmass noted some installation problems. I installed the 64 bit CentOS 5.1 on the machine today.
- Let it wipe the HD and use default partitioning.
- Disabled firewall and disabled SELINUX since that stuff is annoying.
Also plugged in the network cable before installing and set the hostname to rosalba.
Set up with the standard controls and root accounts and passwords.
- Post install update (emacs, perl, general math/sci stuff)
Changed controls shell to tcsh from bash to make the same as other workstations.
