Deletions are marked like this. Additions are marked like this.
Line 22: Line 22:
 * Align Y arm PLUS PR2/3:
   * put alignment targets on ITMY/ETMY cages
   * use alignment ruler for PR2/3
   * using PZT1/2, iteratively:
     * center beam on ITMY
     * center beam on ETMY
     * center beam on PR2/3
       * use PR2/3 hysteresis to adjust pitch of PR2/3
   * flashes in Y trans
 * Adjust ITMY biases to center ITMY retro-reflection on BS.
Line 32: Line 24:
 * Center beam on PRM:
   * height should be constrained at this point based on PR2/3 centering and Y arm alignment
   * move PRM cage if misaligned in yaw
   * PRM retro-reflection should come out REFL cleanly
 * Put apertures on ITMX and ETMX cages.
Line 37: Line 26:
 * Center beam on BS (should not need adjusting):
   * put alignment target on BS
 * Using BS, center beam on ITMX/ETMX. NOTE: SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHING INPUT POINTING/PZTs.
Line 40: Line 28:
 * Align X arm:
   * put alignment targets on ITMX/ETMX cages
   * use BS to center beam on ETMX
   * ITMX height should be constrained by BS/ETMX
   * adjust ITMX cage if misaligned in YAW
   * flashes in X trans
 * Adjust ITMX biases to center ITMX retro-relfection on BS.
Line 47: Line 30:
 * Align SRC
 * check beam centering on SR3/2/M
   * adjust SRM retro-reflection for centered return beam on BS
 * Should be able to see AS MICH flashes.

* Adjust SR2, SR3 to center beams on SR3, SRM.

* Adjust SRM for retro-reflection of AS beam at BS.

Vent checklists

  • Turn OFF PZT high voltage

Alignment precedure

  • Put input PZTs in center of range.
  • Place cage-mount aperture targets on BS and PRM cages
  • Using PZT mirrors ONLY, center beam in PRM aperture, and on PR2 folding mirror, and center PRM retro-reflection in YAW at PZT1/Faraday.
  • Adjust PRM pitch biases to center retro-reflection in pitch.
  • Add brass-mount apertures to ITMY and ETMY.
  • Unclamping and adjusting in yaw, adjust PR2 and PR3 folding mirrors such that beam is through BS, ITMY, and ETMY apertures.
  • Using PR2/3 pitch hysteresis, adjust pitch to center beam through BS/ITMY/ETMY apertures.
  • Adjust ITMY biases to center ITMY retro-reflection on BS.
  • Put apertures on ITMX and ETMX cages.
  • Using BS, center beam on ITMX/ETMX. NOTE: SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHING INPUT POINTING/PZTs.
  • Adjust ITMX biases to center ITMX retro-relfection on BS.
  • Should be able to see AS MICH flashes.
  • Adjust SR2, SR3 to center beams on SR3, SRM.
  • Adjust SRM for retro-reflection of AS beam at BS.

Closeup checklist

  • Center beam on all AS optics
  • Make sure REFL is clear
    • dither PRM, see motion on AP tables
  • Make sure AS is clear
    • dither BS/ITM, see motion on AP tables
  • Using IPANG/POS pick-off mirrors, center beams on:
    • IPPOS
    • IPANG
  • Check all OpLevs centered, in and out of vacuum

  • Turn PZT high voltage OFF
