Next Generation DC Readout Notes
- Put the resistors on the PD block, not the nipple.
- Wider separation for the PDs so the ghost beam can get wedged out.
- Black glass ring around the PD cans to catch the 1st ghost beam.
- Black glass dumps all over the place for the leak throughs. Optic mounts should have their own dumps.
- Don't use any of the Piezo-Jena crap.
- Don't use copper for the OMC body. All fused-silica, all the time.
- Don't use a teensy mirror in the OMC. Calculate the needed resonant frequency.
- Make both curved mirrors on a OMMT movable? And Bigger?
- always draw ALL the dogs for EVERYTHING
- CVI mirrors coated for 45P don't get better than ~98% reflectivity
- change to use a fused silica baseplate with optically contacted mirrors
- Our current Piezo-Jena mounting system makes leak-through beams un-dumpable. This really
- really sucks for beams in the dark port. We should put black glass in a "sandwich" style behind
- the optics.
- DON'T use Kapton tape in vacuum
- If you are mad, Steve, don't work on the optics.
- Scan picomotors before assembling equipment using them.
- Don't put any stress on the pins of a vacuum feedthrough (this affect DC photodiode design)
- Put a temperature sensor inside the DC diode electronics nipple
