-1) Preparations for vent:
    * our last vent was Aug 23, 2005
[http://www.ldas-sw.ligo.caltech.edu/ilog/pub/ilog.cgi?group=40m&date_to_view=08/23/2005&anchor_to_scroll_to=2005:08:23:11:35:22-ajw]
    * Steve will prepare baseline readings for IOOPOS, IOOANG, IPPOS and IPANG QPDs,
all the oplev QPDs, and any/all other QPDs that are useful.
    * We might want to lock the arms, and take baseline trends
of the DC power on all the photodiodes that can be trended.
    * Shall we keep the MC2 QPD on the transmitted beam,
or move it back to the oplev beam?
    * Osamu will prepare a detailed plan for the OSEM work.
    * Rana will lock the arms and measure the angle-to-length couplings
of the ITMs. If the beam is not centered horizontally on ITMX,
we can think about moving it during the vent.
Note that Dan already moved ITMX during the last vent,
      since it was estimated to be 6 cm off horizontally;
but it hasn't been measured since.

Detailed Vent Plan:

-1) Preparations for vent:

  • our last vent was Aug 23, 2005

  • Steve will prepare baseline readings for IOOPOS, IOOANG, IPPOS and IPANG QPDs,
    • all the oplev QPDs, and any/all other QPDs that are useful.
  • We might want to lock the arms, and take baseline trends
    • of the DC power on all the photodiodes that can be trended.
  • Shall we keep the MC2 QPD on the transmitted beam,
    • or move it back to the oplev beam?
  • Osamu will prepare a detailed plan for the OSEM work.
  • Rana will lock the arms and measure the angle-to-length couplings
    • of the ITMs. If the beam is not centered horizontally on ITMX, we can think about moving it during the vent. Note that Dan already moved ITMX during the last vent, since it was estimated to be 6 cm off horizontally; but it hasn't been measured since.

0) Fill Vacuum with Air

1) Remove Doors and Access Connectors:

  • OO: ND and AC
  • IO: AC
  • BSC: ND and ITMY AC
  • ITMY: AC
  • ITMX: ND
  • MC2: ?

2) Fix OSEMS on MC2, BS, PRM, SRM

Mis-align MC2 to prevent flashes?

2.5) Install half-wave plate to rotate polarization into the MC.

3) *Install fixed mount fiber launch at AP?

  • Verify that this fiber beam is co-linear with current darkport beam.

4) *Move OMMT assembly to OO chamber, place according to drawing.

  • Place 4 spherical washers to support OMC breadboard.
  • Move, and place OMC breadboard.
  • Remove handle from OMC breadboard.
  • Remove DCPD, install second fiber launch in its place.
  • Attach cable for OMC length, wire up a solution to drive it.
  • Install RF pickoff mirror. Use reflected beam to lock OMC
  • Place remaining optics rougly on table, including squeezer optics.
  • Measure levelness of OO optic table.
  • Bias tip-tilt PZT2 to the middle of its range.
  • Align PZT2 to hit the PZT1
  • Drape cable from ITMX to BSC
  • Bias PZT1 to middle of its range.
  • Align PZT1 so beam hits center of ITM?
  • Align RF pickoff mirror so back-reflection from SRM
    • can exit chamber. This beam can then be made co-linear
    • with that from the first fiber, by moving a steering mirror on the
    • AP table.
  • Relevel the table, using the bubble and also the beam from the first fiber?
  • Comission the squeezer optics. Relevel table again if movement occurs.

5) Pack up and get out.
