- X-Code (~2.4 GB): Install from the Leopard/Snow Leopard DVD. Prerequisite for Macports.
MacPorts: an automated package management software. Makes it easy for you to get lots of Unix/Linux stuff. Most of the following packages are available through MacPorts.
Porticus: MacPorts GUI.
- Aquamacs: better than X-Emacs or Carbon Emacs.
BibDesk
- Gimp
